Journaling to Process Grief

Caroline Horton, with Amy Schneider

Weekly, May 8 – June 12
Wednesdays 6:00 – 7:30 pm May 8, 15, 22, 29, June 5, 12

This series of six classes will focus on the different ways we can use grief journaling to access our grief, redefine it and come to know ourselves more intimately through the process. Grief is barely talked about in our society and when it is, it is as something to “get over” as opposed to something to incorporate into our lives. It is viewed only as a negative emotion where in reality, grief is the reflection of how deeply we loved. Through the use of simple exercises and prompts, grief journaling can help to reframe the grief experience from the pain of loss to the understanding that love is eternal. During the first class, artist Amy Schneider will guide an art project to decorate our journals dedicated to this class. (Caroline will send a link with journal recommendations.) Your writing is personal, and sharing is optional.

CLASS LOCATION: Krotona Library

Series Fee: $90
